The person who recommended Fengqun the cleaning service got in touch with the cleaners, but was told that there was always someone present supervising them while they worked.
They insisted that it was impossible for them to have stolen anything, and insinuated that Fengqun was making false accusations as she was “not willing to pay the cleaning fee that amounted to tens of thousands of dollars”.
When said person got back to Fengqun to clarify the situation, the latter claimed she had already made a police report.
However, when a Hong Kong reporter sought to ask Fengqun for more details regarding the case, she changed her tune, saying she “did not call the police”.
As of press time, the truth about Fengqun’s lost valuables saga remains a mystery.
Fengqun also expressed her unhappiness at the cleaners.
She said “those people” had cleared out everything in her house, including furniture and electronics. As a result, she is unable to continue living in her house, and is temporarily staying with her daughter.
When asked whether Aaron is aware of the situation, Fengqun said that she did not want to trouble him, before adding: “This is my own matter.”
