After its release, “The Glory” Part 2 became the hottest topic in town, achieving milestones after milestones just three days after its premiere.

However, that wasn’t the only thing that got people interested as one provocative scene earned mixed reactions from viewers around the world. Here’s what happened.

Viewers Express Mixed Feelings on Cha Joo Young’s Nude Scenes In ‘The Glory’

The long awaited second part of the smash hit Netflix series “The Glory” finally dropped, much to fans’ satisfaction!

Starring Song Hye Kyo, the work has won over the hearts of its viewers due to its gripping storyline that depicts the thoroughly planned revenge of a school violence victim to her perpetrators.

The drama gained a cult following due to its premise and its cast’ spine-chilling confrontational scenes. However, Song Hye Kyo and Lim Ji Yeon’s two-shots aren’t the only ones that got people intrigued.

In one scene from Part 2, Cha Joo Young, who plays narcissistic stewardess Choi Hye Jeong, gets into a heated argument with the mastermind of the bullies Park Yeon Jin, played by Lim Ji Yeon.

During their confrontation, she suddenly removes her blouse, exposing her breasts. Many viewers were taken aback by the provocative scene, labeling it as “unnecessary.”

One viewer commented, “Not only was it uncomfortable to watch, the nudity also felt out of place. It added no value to the show’s plot.”

On the other hand, some viewers felt that the raunchy scene was warranted due to the rating that “The Glory” has.

They said, “The series already has mature themes so what did you all expect?”

Despite the backlash, it’s no doubt that Cha Joo Young’s portrayal of her role – a poor woman who longs to fit in through various means – was phenomenal.

Amidst the discussion whether it was appropriate to incorporate nudity to “The Glory,” some eagle-eyed watchers revealed that Cha Joo Young didn’t actually go nude for the show.

In the end credits of “The Glory,” a talent named Lee Do Yeon was mentioned as “Choi Hye Jeong’s body double,” leading fans to conclusion.

Speculations stated that the production unit used computer graphics and advanced technology to replace the actress’ body with the one of her body double.

In “The Glory,” Cha Joo Young’s character had breast enhancement surgery which further strengthened fans’ hunches that the body double was used for the provocative scenes.

Even more so, viewers believe that the actress may not actually expose her own breasts as she refused to wear a body-hugging dress that was requested by the director.

Cha Joo Young revealed during the drama’s press conference that the nude scenes were a last minute addition by the director in order to add flair to the work.

To achieve a great-looking body, the actress shared that she “ate her heart out” to gain 3 lb, proving her dedication.
