Fandoms Unite To Play “Matchmaker” Between EXO’s Kai And SF9’s Yoo Taeyang, And Witness The Results In Real-Time

EXO-Ls and Fantasys were united under one goal recently, and both fandoms hilariously watched it play out in real time.

SF9‘s Yoo Taeyang has consistently proven that he’s EXO Kai‘s biggest fan. Aside from sharing his admiration for Kai, he’s frequently been the first idol to cover the choreography of EXO’s and Kai’s songs.

For Kai’s latest solo release, “Rover,” Yoo Taeyang was once again his top fan and released a dance cover at lightning speed, earning the attention of Kai himself.

Kai commented on Yoo Taeyang’s dance cover, inviting him to dance to “Rover” together, and then reposted Yoo Taeyang’s cover to his Instagram story.

The dance cover and Instagram story launched a series of events that had the two groups’ fandoms playing “matchmaker” and ultimately succeeding. The entire time, Yoo Taeyang and Kai gave fans a front-row seat to the blossoming friendship.

After Kai interacted with Yoo Taeyang’s post, he went to Bubble to consult with fans about his interaction and relatably panicked about messaging first.

• “I mustered up the courage.”
• “Because I’m Rover.”
• “Or was that not cool? T-T”
• “Actually, no. It’s okay. I’m Rover, so it’s fine.”

As he consulted with fans, Yoo Taeyang responded to Kai’s Instagram comment, accepting the invite and further inciting “panic” in Kai.

• Kai: “Let’s do it together, heheh.”
• Yoo Taeyang: “Yes! Please contact me whenever 🙌”

Kai hilariously went back to EXO-Ls to ask for advice on how to respond, worrying over messaging Yoo Taeyang first.

• “T-T”
• “I can’t contact him first…”
• “I don’t know how to respond”
• “What do I say?! He wants me to contact him!”
• “Aaaaaah!”

Kai mustered up the courage to like Yoo Taeyang’s comment but disclosed to fans that he would need until the next day to think over a response.

• “I should at least “Like” his comment”
• “See? I’m such a Rover”
• “I EVEN LIKED HIS COMMENT”
• “I’ll think about the rest tomorrow”

Meanwhile, Yoo Taeyang was also relatably fanboying with Fantasys over Kai interacting with his “Rover” dance cover and excitedly asked fans if they saw the interaction.

• “Come to think of it though, I told him he could contact me, but…”
• “How is he supposed to get in touch with me?”
• “😭😂😭😂😭😂”

Yoo Taeyang realized Kai didn’t have his number, so he wondered what he should do. Fantasys quickly encouraged him to DM Kai.

• “You want me to send a DM?”
• “Everyone is suggesting I DM him 😅”
• “But I’ve never DM-ed anyone before…😔”
• “Okay, all right. I’ll be brave and try.🤗 “

Yoo Taeyang took fans’ advice and sent a DM to his idol Kai, and Kai shared his reaction to the exciting update with fans.

• “HE MESSAGED ME LOL”
• “I’ve been typing and deleting my response a hundred times”
• “I’m working on replying”
• “I just realized I use a lot of exclamation points and ‘LOL’s”

Fans then witnessed Kai becoming Yoo Taeyang’s biggest fan as he admired the SF9 member taking the first step in messaging him.

• “He asked me for my number”
• “He’s so cool…”

The wholesome and adorable exchange between the talented idols brought EXO-Ls and Fantasys together to celebrate Yoo Taeyang becoming the ultimate successful fan and Kai fanboying over the SF9 member.
