A collaborative track from JJ Lin and Anderson .Paak is on the way.

It has been announced that the Singaporean Mandopop star and the GRAMMY-winning American singer-songwriter, producer, and drummer have joined forces for a new single that celebrates the AAPI community’s achievements.

Scheduled for a 7 April release, ‘In the Joy’ will serve as the theme song for the upcoming documentary The Bridge

Helmed by Chinese American filmmaker Evan Jackson Leong, the mind behind the 2013 Jeremy Lin documentary Linsanity and the 2021 crime film Snakehead, The Bridge will centre around the East West Bank, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. The film is slated to be released in the later part of 2023.

‘In the Joy’ is described as a track that connects communities from the East and West and encourages the celebration of “the joy in life, unity, and understanding”. A Mandarin version of it will be featured on Lin’s forthcoming album, which will be launched on 21 April

Now in the 20th year of his career, Lin is one of the most recognisable names in the Mandopop world. The ‘Those Were The Days’ singer is currently bringing his music to fans around the world as part of his ongoing JJ20 World Tour. Hailing from California, .Paak has gained critical acclaim for albums such as Malibu and Ventura as well as his work as a member of the American duo Silk Sonic.
