In the previous few weeks, HYBE has been embroiled in a number of controversies, which have trickled all the way down to a number of artists, together with BTS. Just a few days in the past, an outdated courtroom case resurfaced rumors of “sajaegi advertising and marketing,” or unlawful advertising and marketing, and netizens began demanding a probe into the advertising and marketing practices of BTS and different large Ok-Pop acts.
While followers defended BTS towards these allegations, the South Korean authorities is seemingly taking over the problem on the netizens’ demand. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is about to order an investigation into HYBE’s alleged chart-rigging apply, often called sajaegi, again in 2017.
On May 5, KST, the ministry launched a press release saying that it had obtained a petition demanding a probe into why HYBE was blackmailed for chart-rigging and paid the blackmailer off in 2017.
Meanwhile, followers are enraged at HYBE’s lack of public response to such allegations. Some Korean followers not too long ago organized a protest to stress the corporate into taking motion. You can learn extra about it right here.
