Michelle Yeoh, 60, Gets Her Groove On With Brie Larson At The Cannes Film Festival

Oscar winner Michelle Yeoh, 60, was in France this past weekend for the Cannes Film Festival, and from the looks of it, had an absolute blast.

In an Instagram reel shared by American entertainment magazine, Variety, Michelle and fellow Oscar winner Brie Larson could be seen standing atop their chairs and dancing their hearts out at the Kering Women In Motion dinner.

Never mind that they were both dressed to the nines for the event, the actresses really let loose as they swayed to the saxophone music that was playing in the background.

“60plus years of youthfulness” and “Michelle Yeoh is a goddess” were just some comments left by netizens who were delighted by the clip.

One other thing that caught the eye of netizens was Michelle’s bling for the night.

The actress, who was dressed in a long black gown and white elbow-length gloves was spotted wearing an eye-catching emerald necklace, which is said to be from luxury French jewellery brand, Boucheron.

Michelle also turned heads at the festival’s red carpet, where she donned a bright emerald-coloured Balenciaga couture dress, complete with its own cape that draped over her arms, which she again, accessorised with a pair of black gloves.

If you’ve yet to notice, the Malaysian-born actress appears to have quite the penchant for emeralds.

In the Hollywood film Crazy Rich Asians, Michelle stars as the wealthy leading guy’s domineering mother. A piece of jewellery that she was often seen wearing in the film is a huge emerald ring.

The ring would later appear in one of the most important scenes in the film, when her son, played by Henry Golding, proposes to Constance Wu.

As it turns out, the ring from the movie is a piece of jewellery from Michelle’s personal collection.

The production crew for the movie did not have a large enough budget to ‘cast’ an emerald ring. As such, Michelle generously brought in her own bling to be used as a prop.

Not crazy, but certainly rich Asian indeed.
