Who Is He? Meet The Winner Of Netflix’s “Physical: 100” Who Beat 99 Other Contestants In The Search For The “Perfect Physique”

Netflix‘s Physical: 100 is finally over!

After nine grueling episodes filled with challenges to find the “perfect physique,” the final winner was revealed to be Woo Jin Yong. This athlete may not have been the favorite to win, but he proved that the underdog should not be underestimated!

For those who may not know him, check out several facts about him below!

1. He’s an avid CrossFitter

First up, Woo Jin Yong is a dedicated CrossFit athlete. This trendy high intensity sport consists of varied movements such as squatting, jumping, and lifting that can be applied in daily life. CrossFitters aim to keep increasing the level of power needed to complete each workout, building up their muscle mass, strength, flexibility, and more.

It’s no wonder why Jin Yong proclaimed tenacity as his edge over fellow finalist Jung Hae Min.

2. His first love was snowboarding

Before CrossFit, however, the Netflix reality star loved snowboarding.

He took up the sport in 2007 while he was a student in Canada, becoming an instructor and eventually the first cross national snowboarding athlete of South Korea.

I compete in a snowboarding event called cross. It’s a race where you have to jump and turn corners while you’re at it. I’m the first national team athlete for that sport in Korea.

3. He taught the Korean National Snowboarding Team

Woo Jin Yong was so good at it, he was even the former coach of the Korean National Snowboarding Team. He still coaches students whom he proudly posts about on social media.

4. He joined Physical: 100 to spread popularity about snowboarding

As he revealed in the final episode, he joined the Netflix show for a noble cause: to put the spotlight on the country’s lesser-known winter sports.

I couldn’t make it to the Olympic games. It’s just so hard…a year before the Pyeongchang Olympics, the authorities decided to only support promising events so there are no openings at all now. The younger athletes are training hard right now and I hope they could get a lot of support and that people would take an interest in them.

5. He is active as a CrossFit athlete

Besides the snowboarding world, Jin Yong is well-respected and active in the CrossFit world as well. He is currently affiliated with the gyms JD Fitness...

…and CrossFit NAMSAN.

6. He is Christian

Lastly, for a change of pace, another big part of Woo Jin Yong’s life is his religion. His Instagram bio includes the bible verse Philippians 4:13, which reads: “When we turn to Jesus Christ, we are able to do things we never dreamed were possible. Or survive things we wish we never had to face.”
