An actor nicknamed the “Smiling Prince” is proving that he has what it takes to be a terrifying villain.
At the age of 24, the Malaysian singer-actor Nicholas Teo appeared in Smiling Pasta (2006). His position because the mushy and charming male lead, He Qun, earned him the nickname “Smiling Prince.”
Now 42, Nicholas Teo is shedding his healthful picture for one thing just a little darker. During an episode of the Chinese selection present Memories Beyond Horizon, the actor charmed (and alarmed) viewers by enjoying the position of a seemingly candy man who was, kind of, the kind of character followers would count on him to play. His character was in love with a lady (performed by Xu Ruo Han).
On Memories Beyond Horizon, actors are judged by administrators, producers, and fellow actors after competing in skits every week. The prize? A movie contract. So, naturally, this was the right place for Nicholas Teo to interrupt free from type-casting.
During the skit, the actor’s signature smile reworked into one thing much more sinister as the heat left his eyes.
He turned a complete psycho who doesn’t take rejection properly at all.
In the blink of an eye fixed, the actor switched backwards and forwards all through the skit between doting and horrifying.
Nicholas Teo’s castmates on the present praised his chilling efficiency.
Derek Yee (Hong Kong movie director): …I really feel that it’s fairly scary. You look very mild, however while you act as an obsessive character…
Ning Jing (Chinese singer-actress): You are actually fairly psychotic. (to Derek Yee) Do you’ve gotten any psychotic roles? He is absolutely appropriate for it.
Derek Yee: I feel I can put him up for the problem, it could be fairly significant.
Hopefully, he’ll get his likelihood to convey a villain to life quickly!
