Former TVB actor Michael Tong, who is known for his roles in dramas like Healing Hands and Armed Reaction II, was a certified hottie back in the noughties.
Even when he returned to the broadcaster to star in night club-themed drama Night Beauties last year, the hunky actor, who was then 53, looked fit and fab.
So imagine the surprise of fans when Michael recently shared a video of himself looking a little worse for wear while riding a bus in Beijing.
“Long time no see,” wrote Michael on Douyin. In the clip, he looked older and dishevelled and his “greasy messy hair” and scruffy beard rendered him unrecognisable to many netizens.
Even we took a double take.
One netizen likened him to an “unemployed person roaming the streets”, while another asked if gets to take public transport at half-price or for free as she thought he was a senior citizen.
His response?
“I’m not at that age yet,” replied Michael.
When another fan commented that he looks like a completely different person, Michael replied: “It’s good that you can’t recognise me. I need a new look for my new show.”
